The Position:

You will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support for Crypto.com's EEA operations, offering guidance on regulatory, product, and commercial issues in various jurisdictions. Collaborating with teams such as Compliance, Product, Operations, and Risk, your role will involve facilitating compliant and scalable expansion within the evolving EU/EEA regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise on EU/EEA regulations affecting crypto and digital finance, including MiCA, PSD2, AML/CFT, DORA, and marketing rules.
  • Assist with licensing, registrations, interactions with supervisory bodies, and regulatory projects; prepare submissions and respond to regulator inquiries.
  • Provide product guidance for exchange, wallet, staking/rewards, payments/card, and institutional offerings; review user experience, disclosures, and terms.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements like vendor, technology, data, liquidity, custody, partnership, and marketing agreements.
  • Manage legal risk across borders, monitor regulatory guidance from ESMA/EBA and NCAs, and implement as required.
  • Contribute to internal controls, audits, and reporting to boards and management.

Requirements:

  • Must be a qualified lawyer in an EU jurisdiction with strong academic credentials.
  • Minimum of 5 years of PQE in leading law firms or in-house roles within fintech/financial services/crypto.
  • In-depth understanding of EU financial regulations and digital asset laws, including MiCA, PSD2, AML/CFT, Travel Rule, and consumer/marketing rules.
  • Experience interacting with EU regulators and handling multi-jurisdictional projects.
  • Strong skills in commercial contract negotiation and providing practical, risk-focused advice.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken); additional EU languages are a plus.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic, global environments with a focus on ownership and collaboration.
