About the Position
Toku seeks an accomplished payroll professional to oversee all business-as-usual (BAU) payroll operations and to lead critical projects and initiatives independently. The ideal candidate will establish processes, entities, and industry best practices while effectively managing day-to-day operations, with limited supervision. They will take the lead on Eastern European payrolls and serve as the primary contact for additional responsibilities as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and organize payroll data for submission to processing providers
- Coordinate data preparation and submission across multiple countries through various methods
- Interface with payroll providers for submissions and resolution of related inquiries
- Validate and reconcile payroll data within stipulated timelines to ensure accurate and compliant payments to employees and third parties
- Act as the first point of contact for inquiries from internal staff, external parties, partners, and vendors
- Address queries from various internal departments including HR and finance
- Ensure up-to-date records, procedures, and processes
- Implement new country payrolls compliantly and efficiently
- Facilitate smooth transitions from current providers to new providers
- Handle troubleshooting, issue ownership, and resolution from inception to conclusion
- Provide backup support as necessary
Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of multinational payroll experience
- Profound expertise in payroll processing and best practices
- Strong attention to detail, numerical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and ownership mentality
- Ability to work autonomously, demonstrate initiative, collaborate as a team member, and liaise with external vendors
- Proficient organizational skills, time management capabilities, agility in dynamic environments, and adaptability to change
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong critical thinking abilities to analyze impacts and plan for the future
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
Optional Qualifications:
- Additional language proficiency is advantageous
- Experience with crypto compensation
