Overview

They are in search of an individual who is deeply passionate about data to assist in augmenting their business reporting and data science initiatives through enhancing their enterprise data platform and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Efficiently manage and streamline structured and unstructured data, amalgamating diverse data sources into a cohesive platform that aligns with business and technical requirements.

Strive for long-term strategic solutions over short-sighted fixes.

Collaborate with both local and remote teams to define issues, craft work plans, and leverage problem-solving techniques and past learnings.

Enforce existing data standards and designs within the organization, evaluating the need for enhancements based on unique regional requirements.

Identify gaps between business needs and data structures, offering resolutions to bridge or eradicate these disparities.

Safeguard stakeholder expectations, ensuring streamlined communication and escalation protocols throughout all projects.

Collaborate closely with global team members on data-related assignments.

Deliver robust solutions that are future-proof and scalable to accommodate evolving data volumes and needs.

Requirements

Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, coupled with a minimum of 3 years' experience in data engineering or related roles.

Previous exposure to Retail, e-Commerce, or CRM environments is advantageous.

Proficiency in utilizing SQL.

Strong background in data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.

Familiarity with managing large datasets on cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Big Query, or Redshift.

Working knowledge of Tableau and Cognos.

Experience with relational DBMS and Python is a beneficial addition (e.g., MS SQL, PostgreSQL).

Proficient in both written and verbal English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin).

Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, marketing, and product development to translate analytical insights into actionable strategies.

Take charge of the VOC project, overseeing data collection, cleaning, and BI dashboard development in collaboration with external partners.

Lead and support global web crawler projects to gather and refine industry data.

Contribute to the creation, enhancement, and implementation of AI solutions tailored to the company's business needs.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 4 years of experience in data processing and analysis.

Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools.

Ability to identify critical business issues and predict outcomes accurately.

Strong communication and coordination skills to foster collaboration across diverse teams and departments.

Fluency in both English and Mandarin.

Your role entails:

Overseeing day-to-day operations of agile engineering teams, managing activities such as requirements analysis, scrums, retrospectives, and team engagement events

Developing, enhancing, and sustaining APIs, user experiences, services, and systems

Hands-on coding and providing direct support to engineering team members

Offering technical and architectural guidance for platform development, design, integration, testing, and maintenance processes

Leading agile software methodologies within engineering teams and introducing best practices in the industry

Collaborating with stakeholders to align team efforts with organizational objectives, create technology roadmaps, and establish realistic product launch schedules

Desired Qualifications:

3+ years of technical leadership experience

7+ years of software engineering experience

Hands-on coding experience in languages like Go, Java, or Javascript

Proficiency in designing, building, and deploying secure, scalable products and services

Commitment to remaining hands-on with coding and aspiring to develop leaders within and beyond your team

Enthusiasm for coaching and empowering individuals to achieve their best work

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, capable of making sound decisions and trade-offs

Prior experience managing remote teams

Additional Details:

This role is eligible for immediate sponsorship under the PERM program for qualified candidates

Compensation is based on several factors, including experience, skill set, qualifications, and business needs, with total compensation packages tailored accordingly

Competitive base pay range of $182,500 - $240,000

Annual bonus target of 15%
